How about a bit of storytime? I present to you a brief walk down memory lane. It’s amazing what can happen when you look at how far you have come versus how far you have yet to go!

A couple of evenings ago, I got the email that one of my domains expired.

Normally, I leave my domains on auto-renew — & I have had a TON of them the last three to five years or so.

But THIS domain? The domain that just expired?

It was my FIRST one.

Like, EVER.

This blog, Confidence & Chaos, originated as a diary-styled blog over on the freebie hosted WordPress site waaay back in January 2013.

I upgraded from a “CalculatedChaosofLife” subdomain to “CalculatedChaos” (with a .NET because a gaming place had the .COM even though it wasn’t really using it 🙄😂).

Then, in January 2018, I migrated this blog to self-hosted WordPress & changed its domain to its current Confidence & Chaos.

It has HISTORY, y’all!

This blog has been my THERAPY…

… It’s built up my confidence to levels I couldn’t even FATHOM 8 years ago when I started blogging…

… It’s been a tool to meet new people & make connections I never would have otherwise…

… It is a PERFECT-to-me visual of what it means to do things your best— even if imperfectly! — then to do BETTER when you KNOW better.

Aaah. 🤔😍

So, that domain. It’s time to let it go…

It is a bittersweet thing, but I am finally ready. It’s been three years of parking it & redirecting to this new site. It’s TIME.

But, as I let that domain go, I am reflecting on how seriously FAR I have come since that January over eight years ago!

Back then, blogging felt like a HUGE endeavor. It was my do-it-scared, big, scary goal back then! I was scared shitless! No joke!

Today, I am adding to that same blog its 216th post; this post. And I have come full circle back around to this being MY space for therapy — you can see it right on the homepage — with the added benefit of being a type of therapy for some of you too.

Now, with all of the things I have been learning & applying over the years, I just took my NEW BLOG off its “COMING SOON” mode!

This is a truly exciting time!

  • I am focusing on how far I have come rather than how far I have yet to go;
  • My newest blog is actually cohesive & strategic;
  • I am turning around & creating products & services to help those behind me on this line; &
  • I can FINALLY see a good chunk of my “puzzle pieces” snapping together!

There is so much more I want to share.

But isn’t this just an awesome example of how a door closing doesn’t always mean a lost opportunity?

This domain cancellation — that email that just hit my inbox a bit ago — served as an incredible opportunity for me to SEE that I am right where I am supposed to be.

I couldn’t have dreamed of being where I am today. It wasn’t even on my radar back then! So I am already ahead of the game!

Now that goalpost has been shoved even further out!

YES, I have a long way to go to be where I want to be….

But, I can’t ignore the success I see staring at me when I look at this seemingly simple email tonight…

Try it with me.

Focus on how far you have come versus how far you have yet to go.

I am going to do some I KICKASS, no-joke, totally-life-altering things in the next few years! Mark my words. 💜😘

Do you have any seemingly small things you have encountered lately that remind you just how far you’ve come already too??

Sharing is appreciated & encouraged! Thank you for visiting!
